Emily Danielczyk - Director

Emily Danielczyk began her career with The Learning Tree in February 2009 when she became the Lead Toddler Teacher at the South Lyon center. In August 2011 the opportunity to become assistant director at the Livonia South center arose and Emily jumped at it! In January 2012 Emily stepped up to the position of Director at South! 

She currently holds a Bachelors of Science in elementary education with a major in language arts and a minor in early childhood education from Eastern Michigan University. In her spare time Emily likes to spend time with her husband and her Chihuahua! She also enjoys reading and spending time outside. Emily has a great passion for the education of young children and providing a safe and fun learning environment for them. 

Alicia Dyer - Assistant Director

Alicia joined The Learning Tree Team in fall 2007 at our North Livonia location, where she was hired as the lead teacher in the Transitional Preschool program. In fall of 2010 she took her love of children and skills with older children to Pre-K, taking over as the lead teacher. After sharing her talents with the Pre-K program and excelling above and beyond, she began helping in the office with tours and office duties. Her desire to grow and learn has brought her to a new position within The Learning Tree as the Assistant Director at Livonia South.

Alicia is a senior at Wayne State University and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping and scrap booking. She also enjoys spend time with her 11yr old twins, her family and friends.

Karen Ballard - Regional Director
Karen Ballard is the Regional Director of The Learning Tree Child Care Centers. 

Karen began her career with The Learning Tree in August of 1998 as a Head Teacher in a toddler classroom. Her passion for early childhood education was fueled in that class and her love for children and their families grew. In June of 2002 she switched gears a bit and transferred to The South Lyon Learning Tree as Director. It was as a Director that she became enthusiastic about watching children and teachers grow and learn. In December of 2003 she was given the opportunity to be Regional Director, overseeing the operations of all three Learning Trees. 

As Regional Director she has the pleasure of traveling from center to center throughout the week, talking with parents, training the administration at each center and still finds time to do what her heart loves most- play  with the children. She graduated from William Tyndale College in December of 1998 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and is continuing her education at Madonna University. She looks forward to being a part of each child’s early learning experience and knows that The Learning Tree is the perfect fit for you and your family.
