Kindergarten Enrichment

Whether your child attends morning or afternoon kindergarten; public or private school, our Kindergarten Enrichment Program offers a variety of care options for your child.

Communication
KindergartenEach classroom has a Parent Information Board. Posted on this board are lesson plans, menus, information on upcoming events, etc. Some teachers also develop and send home a monthly newsletter about upcoming class projects, past events, etc.

Bus Transportation
Bus transportation to and from your child's school is available during the school year. All of our bus drivers hold a Michigan Chauffeurs License and have been trained in proper vehicle safety. All of our vehicles are equipped with first aid kits and cell phones. Your child's school schedule and emergency card are always carried when picking up or dropping off your child. At the beginning of the school year our drivers communicate with your child's school to designate a safe and appropriate pick up and drop off area for children attending The Learning Tree.

Curriculum

Providing supplemental learning activities that build upon skills your child learns at school is the goal of our Kindergarten Enrichment Program. Our Kindergarten Goals include:

  • Encourage children to make intelligent choices
  • Provide opportunities for children to work together in small groups
  • Build on children's emerging reading and writing skills with literacy activities
  • Encourage children to begin putting their thoughts and feelings down on paper
  • Provide children with games that teach mathematics and reasoning skills
  • Encourage group discussions on situational topics
  • Encourage creative expression, representation and appreciation of art
  • Use family style dining as an opportunity for the children to learn proper manners and to socialize
  • Introduce children to cultures and parts of the world different than their own
  • Develop awareness that other families' and childrens' culture may be different or similar
  • Initiate discussions and activities to teach respect and appreciation for differences among people
